Upslope teamed up with our friends at Weston Backcountry
, Colorado Mountain School
and Neptune Mountaineering
to bring our loyal patrons and fellow outdoor adventures the Backcountry Sessions!
Each session will start with a State of the snowpack brought to you by Colorado Mountain School, so make sure you come early and grab your seat.
About each session:
❄️ Wednesday, December 12th (7-9pm) ❄️
Front Range/RMNP Backcountry Touring Objectives with Colorado Mountain School:
Join Colorado Mountain School guides for an in-depth look at local Front Range touring opportunities, including classic objectives in Rocky Mountain National Park. Weston Backcountry and Neptune Mountaineering will be in attendance as well. CMS will begin with a state of the local snowpack and avalanche conditions, then start the speaker series after. Come out and support your local backcountry community and set your goals for the season!
❄️ Monday, January 7th (7-9pm) ❄️
A Denali Experience with Pat Gephart & Weston Backcountry:
Join Weston Backcountry Team Rider Pat Gephart for a presentation on his recent splitboard expedition to Denali, where his crew and him were able to snowboard from the summit. Pat will go into detail about his training, gear preparation, and experience on the mountain during his 24 day stay on the glacier. Join the rest of the backcountry community and the Weston crew to learn more about what worked, and most importantly, what didn't, while on a Denali expedition.
❄️ Monday, February 11th (7-9pm) ❄️
Split the 14ers with Josh Jesperson:
Join Josh Jespersen, splitboard-mountaineer, Weston athlete, and Navy SEAL for a discussion on splitboarding Colorado's 14'ers. Josh currently holds the speed record for summiting and riding all 54 of Colorado's 14,000 ft peaks in just 138 days. Learn what it takes to splitboard 14ers for a whole ski season, and drink some beer with the man who has done them all.
* Seats will be limited to the first 30 folks who arrive with standing room available after the seats are claimed.
